This 3-hour workshop equips counselors with the knowledge and skills to conduct trauma-informed assessments that are both clinically effective and culturally responsive. Participants will explore strategies to recognize complex and racial trauma, avoid re-traumatization, and reduce bias in the assessment process. Supervision on the Edge: Supporting Counselors in Rural Practice

This 3-hour training prepares supervisors to effectively support counselors practicing in rural and underserved communities. Participants will examine the unique challenges of rural mental health practice, including dual relationships, community visibility, limited resources, and high trauma exposure. Through case examples and interactive discussions, supervisors will analyze ethical dilemmas and apply strategies to strengthen counselor resilience, cultural responsiveness, and boundary management.
